- Kimi no Na Wa (directed by Makoto Shinkai)
- One Piece Film Gold (directed by Hiroaki Miyamoto)
- Koe no Katachi (directed by Naoko Yamada)
- Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni (directed by Sunao Katabuchi)
- Rudolf the Black Cat (directed by Kunihiko Yuyama and Motonori Sakakibara)
The winner will be announced during the 40th ceremony of the Japan Academy Film Prize to be held on March 3.
